Mishi Donovan graces us once again with her plaintive vocals and deeply felt ballads of love, passion and life's ups and downs as a Chippewa-Cree woman in the 21st century. She grew up an orphan without knowledge of her past but has climbed out of the depths of many hardships and brutality as a talented actress, singer-songwriter and educator. This is a quiet album even though many songs have electric guitars. The production is an even flow of acoustic-oriented rock with some fine background vocals.
