Singer-songwriter, actress, Mishi Donovan is a Chippewa Cree from the Turtle Mountain Reservation in No. Dakota. Her heartfelt ballads are emotional and unflinching in their portrayal of women in various states of turmoil. She sings of a husband coming home to his frightened wife with a gun in his hand among other stark portrayals of women living on the edge.
