Bill Miller's Ghostdance opens with a lush string arrangement setting the theme for the dramatic tone of the album. The production is wonderful and Miller's vocals are always crisp and clear. There's never a doubt as to what he's singing about even with background vocals, subtle orchestrations and a big full-blown sound. "I saw Crazy Horse walkin' alone in the dark, on the streets paved in blood, on his broken heart, he never dreamed it would turn out like this." There is a deep sadness to his music but his songwriting is so superb and the arrangements are so tasteful that he'll undoubtedly move you. This is not the rock album that Raven in the Snow is. It's much more of an acoustic folk sound.
